have i mentioned i'm feeling great now!? *grin* classes really snapped me out of it just like i hoped! i talked to ALL the people!
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
if there's ONE THING me & ^kv can agree on liking, it's blurting out stuff like this and leaving ^merrick to deal with it! *laugh*
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
we're basically done with winter/spring classes! summer term starts may 6. i'm happy. i think we're gonna get good grades. anyways, i'm posting a lot more on lj, but i try to stop by here sometimes.
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
so we did our 'how to write a sonnet' speech & it went over well i think. then yesterday we gave our hometown speech & people were actually interested! :) this public speaking class has been SO COOL!
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
um, yesterday was our 1st day of classes. we're taking public speaking and pc hardware & software support. i think they're both gonna be cool. we haven't decided yet what the frontrunning teams for each class are gonna be. prolly me + merrick + kv for public speaking.....and then kv + wyatt + merrick for pc hardware. so yea. we'll decide tomorrow after class meeting #2.

classes are tuesday & thursday 11a-12:20p and 1p-3:15p. we hafta get up just before 9am and leave for the bus stop @ 9:25. then we catch the 3:45p bus from the college to downtown and the 4:15p bus home. so we're gone for like ever just for 2 classes. anyways, we're gonna hafta pack a lunch cuz that's too long not to eat anything real.
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
so we've got our math final exam on tuesday. me & ^merrick are studying the 'review' practice problems, but it's like we're learning this stuff for the 1st time. not ALL of it, but a LOT is new to us. we're being kinda lazy about studying, but tomorrow is gonna be our big study day.

next semester we get some different types of classes, but i think we learned our lesson this semester....don't give classes to insiders we can't fully trust! ^wyatt will get his chance to participate in our computer class next semester, but he's NOT gonna be the ONLY one taking it.

he's still merged with ^toby as of today. honestly, i'm GLAD. i hope they stay merged till AFTER the final exam.

yay ^kv!

^kv got us a 100% on the state & local government midterm. there were only 2 of the 100's in the whole class. YAY ^KV!!
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
so yesterday was eventful! ^kv & ^merrick went to government class and did this little presentation of proposal 3 to the whole class. it went SUPER well!

another classmate group's proposal was to stop the 'emergency manager' law. for anybody who doesn't know, an 'emergency manager' is somebody appointed (usually by the governor) to take the place of an elected official when a district is failing. anyways, that doesn't REALLY matter here, and i DON'T wanna discuss politics, but the definition matters later, k?

so then ^wyatt & ^merrick go to algebra class and everything's generally ok till the prof tries to get everybody into groups and ^wyatt can't handle it and they dissociate and ^THE PLANT shows up. the prof can't get the plant to respond (duh!!) so she calls security and this campus police officer comes in and escorts whoever's at the front to this little backroom in the library.

we got asked a TON of questions and ^merrick kinda came back to answer them. she finally said something about dissociation and the security guy doesn't know what that means, and ^merrick's attempts to define it make him think psychosis which is BAD cuz if he thought we were psychotic, we woulda gotten paramedics and emergency room and ALL that stuff we REALLY didn't want/need. SOOOO finally ^merrick mentions multiple personality disorder and he GOT that, so yea.

um.....so he makes all these offers of calling people and we SRSLY just wanna leave cuz a reasonable insider was at the front so everything really was ok, but he lets us go eventually. ^merrick talked to the prof and she recommended a 'special services' letter, which we were like: 'yea, i'm working on getting one, but it isn't ready yet.' (we're gonna email the psychologist TODAY and ask her to have the letter ready by our appt next monday....yeesh!) but she's gonna be careful about assigning us into groups now, which will be good but srsly.....

later on we were talking to mom and we thought of something. our 'emergency manager' generally ends up being ^the plant, which is only SLIGHTLY better than ^pretty little beast, so we TOTALLY need to appoint a decent emergency manager. ^merrick thinks it should be ME. we're gonna have an inside meeting to discuss it, but i bet I'M gonna be our emergency manager.

i'm awesome like that.
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
ugh, the DID is really messing us up at school. i know we're gonna have the new psychologist write us a 'special services' letter (we kinda gave up on getting a letter from the psychiatrist) but i dunno how much help it'll do us in algebra. last winter fundamentals of algebra was our better class, this term the dissociation is getting in the way of our success. ugh!

first day

buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
started classes today. we've got 'state & local government' and 'intermediate algebra'. the former starts at 11am and the latter at 12:30pm (10 mins after the former ends). i dunno how we're gonna arrange our fronting schedule for these classes. as long as we all get the information this time, anything could be ok.

some stuffs

1) we got our grades last night! 4.0 in the math class, woot! the programming logic prof apparently gave us an incomplete even tho we didn't ask for it. he never contacted us like to explain how the incomplete contract should be worked out, but we're gonna take the class again anyways. AFTER we get this inside stuff worked out.

2) about 3 and a half hours into fable: the lost chapters, i'm just about to start the rescue scarlet robe/prison escape quest. today i fought the white balverine, went through the arena, rescued the archaeologist (minions!), AND took the graveyard path. the arena is SO LONG. so is the prison escape, which i'm gonna do tomorrow. tonight dad* needed the tv so i had to quit.

*i made up my mind to call the body-parents just parents. maybe they don't know it, but i AM half the daughter they know, and they're good to me. (i'll forgive the driving ban! *wink*) so, mom & dad.

decisions

anyways, we decided 'screw this class!' for programming logic on the last day when we were gonna ask for an incomplete. it just hit us that we wanna learn this stuff from a prof who knows what ey's doing. if we fail, we'll take it over again from somebody competent. & we'll do it AFTER therapy gets us working together better. so, yea.

we got an appointment with a therapist who apparently has some experience with dissociation. i'm hoping she's somebody we can work with cuz we really need this therapy and some of us have trouble trusting people. if she makes us dissociate going in there, that's.....not gonna work out so good.

we're taking 'beginning keyboarding' this summer. by fall we better be cooperating so we can get back into real education. half-time isn't going to get us to our associate's degree very fast, so we can't be lagging too much.

final exam

buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
algebra final exam was 15 questions multiple choice. wth???

the prof said it was a 'departmental final', which apparently means all MATH096 classes get the same final exam. but it was ridiculous! the final exam review was like 50+ questions covering all the stuff we did in class — then the actual exam was like nothing.

i think ^webber posted some stuff about programming logic and the future and stuffs. i'll get around to it eventually.

screwed

so i know i said i'd be back to my usual positive self today....but i'm not.

basically, in programming logic class ^merrick came to the realization that ^isah has been trying to make us fail. yea. she totally screwed us over!

the textbook prolly could've helped us do the assignments, but the textbook never got read cuz whenever ^merrick thought of reading it, suddenly the thought would disappear and she'd be doing something else. it's one of those you-don't-remember-you-don't-remember types of amnesia, so it never occurred to us that something was missing till the prof said something today & another student showed ^merrick his textbook. then.....DING!

even better, apparently we were supposed to do these online tests on the textbook every week, but none of us ever remembered thinking about those tests, so i guess we missed about 1/2 of them, and there's no makeup tests.

body-mom thinks we should try to take an incomplete for the course, but the term ends on thursday, and i dunno if we can get an incomplete that fast — or if we can get an incomplete AT ALL. after all, yunno, what do we say?? we don't have the disability office behind us this time. so......i really dunno what we're gonna do.

curses!

i'm writing this partly cuz ^merrick wants it recorded but doesn't have anyplace to put it, but i'm gonna put my take on it too so that it's right for MY journal.

i think i've talked about our school arrangements before but i'll sum them up here. last term we took business computer applications & interpersonal communication. we got into the habit of going together, took turns somewhat, but the turn-taking was....softer, like usually all 3 of us were there, which — now — we're realizing was prolly a good thing. anyways, we planned to do roughly the same thing this term, with programming logic & fundamentals of algebra.

so yesterday ^merrick goes into programming logic alone. (we're getting MORE dysfunctional when it comes to switching, you'd think it'd be the other way around! we can't force anybody to the front without major dissociation.) the prof says it's the class where we're working on project 1. ^merrick sits down and opens the un-modified code and the hierarchy chart......and gets nothing.

turn-taking went so well that programming logic knowledge — the practical stuff, not from reading the chapters or listening to lectures — is confined to the insider who was closest to the front when the students were taught flowcharting and how to decipher/modify code. so ^merrick sits there in class and tries to call ^kv to the front, but of course trying to get him there means dissociation.

these days any effort to go against 'natural' switching just results in zoning out/depersonalization/derealization type stuff.....and natural switching is totally dysfunctional. broken. it doesn't bring the RIGHT insider for the job to the front anymore. it's like we're losing control of system workings.

this brings to mind having the wrong insider at the front for the last math test too. that better not happen again tomorrow!

we thought turn-taking in classes was gonna be good for us, but it backfired. now what?? (advice is welcome, if you've got some.)
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
it's really useful if the insider who TAKES the math test is one of the ones who STUDIED for it.....

ugh

turns out the appt with the surgeon is just gonna be a CONSULTATION. wth?! we're pissed. that's like FOREVER to wait for some guy to 'look it over' and 'discuss the options'! srsly there ARE NO options. it's just ONE little procedure. grah!

in other news, we're considering starting a group journal on DW. i dunno if we will but it'd be kinda nice to have a central space PLUS our separate journals. ^merrick's mainly the one for it cuz she has a journal on LJ and doesn't wanna keep a new journal on DW alone (she's actually GOT one at [personal profile] with , just doesn't wanna use it).

anyways, life's not bad. i should be letting ^kv do programming logic homework now, but we'll make time for that tomorrow. ha.
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
so our maths prof is ADD and dyslexic and really loud. i liked him right away. *grin* he's creative with what he says, so here we're talking about variables and other numbers. instead of cats-and-dogs or apples-and-oranges, we get this:

prof: they're like dogs and bananas. you can't put them together; there aren't bananadogs. you hafta put dogs with dogs or bananas with bananas.

a minute later:

prof: so here you have a bulldog and....somebody give me the name of a small dog?
student: shih-tzu?
prof: so when you put together a bulldog and a shih-tzu, what do you get?
student: bullshit.
everyone: *snickers*

even the prof liked it! after that, we put dogs with dogs and bananas with bananas. no questions asked. *nod*
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
classes ROCK!! we're all 3 gonna be going to the maths class for sure! spent LOTS & LOTS of money on textbooks. but i'm really really really excited. *grin*

i got to work in my diagram notebook again today. i'm finally FINALLY getting to do the how-we-work diagrams except i changed my mind from last time so it's different. & the welcoming of new insiders changed things around too. SOOOOO i've got a page done but there's gonna be at least another page. maybe more. i'm gonna scan them and post them when i get them done....enough.

also i'm gonna put some effort into a 'how we work' type post in words. and MAYBE i'll get to [livejournal.com profile] multiplemonday answers pretty soon too.

tl;dr?

so we think we're gonna get good grades this semester we just finished. our online grades for business computer apps are looking like 98% right now & we got great scores on the major parts of interpersonal communication, so we SHOULD get a good grade there, too.

next semester we're taking 'fundamentals of algebra' and 'programming logic' which means that i'm not gonna get a whole lotta class time. ^kv is the math guy. me & ^merrick are both ok with math and i KNOW we'd pick it up quick, but ^kv deserves some time just for him. he never gets that. a class or two should satisfy him and we all know that will make EVERYBODY happy. sheesh.

but classes don't start till january 9th, so we've got WAY too much time off.

we're watching 'avatar: the last airbender' now, which is cool, and i REALLY wanna write fanfic for it, but ^merrick doesn't want me getting into that. he has plans for another story, original fic, but i keep telling him that's how he works BEST - yunno, he gets things done when he has to cram them into the spaces between somebody else doing something. so.....it's fanfic for me!

other things we've gotta do are just boring like fixing the website of body-mom's psychology workplace. it's gonna be tricky to fix it or redesign it so it LOOKS like we fixed it. you wouldn't believe all the extra tags all over the place, like blank paragraphs that SHOULD be <br /> are formatted with <span> & 2 or 3 <p> tags plus extraneous CSS. it looks sorta ok on the web, but the code is garbage.

me & ^merrick are kinda excited about xmas. i've gotten in some shopping in stores and online and there's one more thing i've gotta buy at the local store. i know a lot of the presents we're gonna get, and that's ok with ^merrick who likes getting what he wants, but i like being surprised. ehh, oh well.

umm, like i said, cooking for grandma and parents tonight, so i'm gonna do a little planning for the fanfic before i've gotta go and start cooking. *waves to everyone*
