so we got our christmas tree today. the place we went apparently was thinking everybody already got their trees by now so they don't have anybody actually AT the place so it was like 'u-pick'. but REALLY it was u-find, u-cut, u-drag, u-shake, u-drill (tho this guy did show up to help us drill), u-bind, u-tie, & u-pay! *laugh*

the family got this crooked tree tho and it got drilled crooked, so we couldn't put it into the usual stand, so parents had to wrestle it around for like an HOUR to get in into the old-style stand. it's vertical now, we hope it's gonna stay that way!

today's the last day our parents are gone. we did the dishes BEFORE dinner last night, so we're gonna hafta do them again in the next couple hours so they're done when parents get home. me & ^wyatt don't really mind doing the dishes, so yea.

mom & dad are planning to go to body-great-aunt's memorial service 8hrs away from here. they'll be gone friday, saturday, and most of sunday. me & bro get to be home alone again.

tonight we're making green beans with bacon to go with the leftover chicken/rice/picante enchiladas we made for dinner yesterday. then today or tomorrow we're gonna make rhubarb bread with the rhubarb in our garden. the rhubarb bread recipe is prolly one of the most delicious things ever. *grin*

thursday night we talked to dad about the dissociation & school. he doesn't get the switching at school, like we should understand and control it, and it made us think we REALLY need to find out what our triggers are.

most of them are a total mystery to us. i mean at school we tend just to have the right insider at the front at the beginning of class, just cuz they're needed and their skills fit, BUT if they get knocked from the front then they can't always come back. so that's a trigger too, of kicking the insider out AND of bringing a new insider to the front.

anyways, it'll be good for us if we find what the triggers are.

us & mom went to the beach again yesterday! the water was like bathwater in by the shore. it was SO TOTALLY MUCH better than friday when there was an east wind. we had a great time.....but i ended up REALLY sunburned.

also dad FINALLY agreed on a laptop to buy. *grin* it was one that we saw monday and somehow bought tuesday night. it's super new and it only had good reviews and it had external reviews too. this is the one!

haha, now dad's more frustrated laptop shopping than us!! we went to best buy to look at their laptops and ^merrick was all: 'noooo, not that one, the touchpad is the wrong texture!' so now dad says we can't pick out one on the web cuz we won't know the touchpad texture! *laugh* so sometime we're gonna pick out one from the laptops we saw at best buy & GET IT! we liked a bunch of them anyway......

laptop on newegg says 'deactivated' AGAIN, so they might never have it in stock. but srsly i've been thinking maybe we don't REALLY need dedicated graphics. i thought maybe we'd play some video games, but the only one we haven't been bored of in a week is fable on xbox. not to mention — i see most of the laptops with dedicated graphics get reviews saying the motherboard screwed up CUZ OF the graphics card. integrated might be the way to go. i'll hafta tell dad, see what he says.

also i'm SO looking forward to getting the offspring's new album 'days go by'. i preordered it and it got shipped the day BEFORE it was released. anyways it's sposed to come on saturday but i bet it'll get here sooner.

i made pink lemonade ice cream pie tonight. i LOVE the ice cream with the yummy graham cracker crust. mmmmmm!

also, if they get back in stock, we MIGHT get this lenovo ideapad laptop. dad actually approves of something we found for once, but he's still shopping i guess!

we hung around downtown from 8:45am ~ 5:30pm today. got fasting bloodwork done, walked to get a bagel sandwich for lunch, sat in the park for hours reading & story-planning. my left upper arm got sunburned, but nothing else got burned. i dunno where i was sitting for that to happen.

8am is WAY too early for this body to wake up. it needs like 10+hrs of sleep. gonna wake up at 8am again tomorrow too. i wish we could MAKE the body fall asleep cuz it takes it like 45+mins.....unless i take ^merrick up to my bedroom and we snuggle. we fall asleep faster that way. SO FAR! *fingers crossed!*

we're not gonna finish camp nanowrimo this month. we got 36K yesterday, but i dunno how much more we're gonna write. we quit our novel in the middle and started on 'backstory bingo' with a card from [community profile] origfic_bingo. it's a lot of fun but it's slower going than novel writing.

today we celebrated dad's bday & father's day. it was pretty cool! me & ^merrick baked carrot cake and dad grilled hamburgers and brats and italian sausages on the grill. mom made baked veggies and green beans that me & ^merrick fried bacon for. yummy!! *smile* we did a tiny bit of writing for camp nano but we're gonna catch up tomorrow.

dad basically gave us permission to buy a new laptop!! *grin* we're gonna poke around for something good that meets ^kv & ^wyatt's specs.

here i'm making rice and dad comes in to look. he's teasing me about why i only made a 1-1/2 recipe and my answer is.....

me: i plead the fifth.
dad: the fifth of what?
me: may. it's cinco de mayo.
dad: you can't plead cinco de mayo.

1) we got our grades last night! 4.0 in the math class, woot! the programming logic prof apparently gave us an incomplete even tho we didn't ask for it. he never contacted us like to explain how the incomplete contract should be worked out, but we're gonna take the class again anyways. AFTER we get this inside stuff worked out.

2) about 3 and a half hours into fable: the lost chapters, i'm just about to start the rescue scarlet robe/prison escape quest. today i fought the white balverine, went through the arena, rescued the archaeologist (minions!), AND took the graveyard path. the arena is SO LONG. so is the prison escape, which i'm gonna do tomorrow. tonight dad* needed the tv so i had to quit.

*i made up my mind to call the body-parents just parents. maybe they don't know it, but i AM half the daughter they know, and they're good to me. (i'll forgive the driving ban! *wink*) so, mom & dad.

i HATE being banned from driving. *sulk* ^merrick & ^webber are practicing driving backward with body-dad. too bad we all get a sorta 'tetris effect' of feeling like we're still going backward when we shut our eyes — and ALL of us at the front get it.

body-dad asked recently why/how i followed the no-driving rule when i didn't follow other rules and the system couldn't control switching or shifting. i gotta say i wish i didn't hafta follow rules like that, but i've actually got some respect *GASP!* for rules that i understand were made for OUR OWN good no matter how much i hate them. & so far the system hasn't tried to switch me forward while we're driving. course, considering our luck these days, that'll be next!

tuesday

gonna see the psychiatrist on tuesday. i dunno if he really believes we're plural, but this time we've actually got some evidence of dissociation or at least some issues with (i think it's called) internally-focused state-dependent memory.

body-mom is gonna ask him to write us a note for class where we can give it to the profs to explain what's going on. like to say we're sometimes more able than other times to recall information and work on projects — not saying dissociation or 'multiple personalities', but explaining why sometimes we can do one thing and sometimes we can't. ehhh, she says it better than that, but that's the basics.

we're taking:
[1] the paper i posted a couple days ago
[2] a list of the times and situations where an insider was in the wrong place at the wrong time
&
[3] some of the switch triggers we've noticed (only one identified so far but we're working on that)

body-mom isn't actually going this time cuz she's gotta work, so we're going with body-dad. this time i'm not gonna try to come to the front during the appointment. it'll be better if ^merrick can just tell him straightforward without interruptions. we wanna get this figured out and we hope to have the psychiatrist's help.

yummeh!

we moved body-grandma from her apartment in a retirement community to another apartment upstairs in assisted living. it was SO HARD. i carried some heavy stuffs today. it's WEIRD being 7 inches taller than myself, it gets REALLY awkward trying to remember my arms & legs & torso are longer. (i'm 4'11", the body is 5'6".) we spent 7hrs minimum packing, carrying, and setting up everything in its new place. for our efforts, we got dinner, and it was pretty good. sadly, we're not done yet.

xmas eve

the family xmas celebration is postponed cuz body-mom is sick. we haven't even gotten our presents wrapped. she's been in bed all day. me and body-dad did the last-minute xmas dinner (lasagna, we decided) shopping around 2pm. the house is so quiet. i know it's xmas eve, but it really could be any old day for all the holiday spirit we feel. and who knows how tomorrow's gonna go.

body bro & dad found this 12lb bag of coins where they were painting and brought it home. i got some coin wrappers from the bank and got started wrapping them. i think i spent 3ish hrs and made $33.50!! it's SOOO easy. just count the coins — 50 pennies ($.50), 40 nickels ($2), 50 dimes ($5) — and stick them in the wrapper. i bet by the time i get done there's gonna be almost $50. woooo!

edit — i made $51 & gave $23 to body bro. now i get to do my own coin jar. bwaha!!
