so we got our christmas tree today. the place we went apparently was thinking everybody already got their trees by now so they don't have anybody actually AT the place so it was like 'u-pick'. but REALLY it was u-find, u-cut, u-drag, u-shake, u-drill (tho this guy did show up to help us drill), u-bind, u-tie, & u-pay! *laugh*

the family got this crooked tree tho and it got drilled crooked, so we couldn't put it into the usual stand, so parents had to wrestle it around for like an HOUR to get in into the old-style stand. it's vertical now, we hope it's gonna stay that way!

so mom is making scalloped corn and she looks in the cupboard to find.....

mom: 'oh no! we don't have any canned corn!'
*everyone rummages thru the cupboards; there is no corn*
me: *calls the grocery store* 'are you open this evening?'
store: 'we close in 10 minutes.'
me: 'ok, thanx.' *to mom* 'they close in 10 minutes'
mom: 'we'll be there in 5!'

we got back from the grocery store in 8 minutes with a couple cans of corn.

also....happy thanksgiving to everybody who celebrates it! :)

it was so funny last night. we were having body-grandma over for dinner. mom was gonna put a chicken in the oven, then some bbq chicken thighs, with potato stuffing in the chicken, a green veggie, and homemade applesauce. we were gonna peel the apples while she was with a client 3-4pm, and then she'd come home and take over!

yea. it didn't turn out like that. she got accidentally scheduled a client from 4-5pm, so we put the whole chicken in the oven with a meat thermometer (it slipped and ended up measuring the pan, eheh!) and then later put in the thighs with bbq sauce. then we peeled potatoes and boiled them (didn't know how to make potato stuffing, so mashed potatoes instead). and snapped and cooked the green beans. AND peeled/sliced the apples and put them on to boil.

it was kinda fun, actually. we don't mind cooking, it's just when our responsibility goes from 'yay! peeling apples!' to 'making a whole dinner myself!' unexpectedly, it comes as a surprise! :D

dance!

we showed mom the gangnam style video last night. she can totally do the dance.....and ^merrick CAN'T. now i wanna try cuz i'm way more coordinated but it would be kinda hard to switch like that in front of mom. so after ^merrick couldn't do it, we played stepmania cuz me & ^merrick are super-good at that together! all this AFTER 11pm.
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
today's the last day our parents are gone. we did the dishes BEFORE dinner last night, so we're gonna hafta do them again in the next couple hours so they're done when parents get home. me & ^wyatt don't really mind doing the dishes, so yea.
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
mom & dad are planning to go to body-great-aunt's memorial service 8hrs away from here. they'll be gone friday, saturday, and most of sunday. me & bro get to be home alone again.

tonight we're making green beans with bacon to go with the leftover chicken/rice/picante enchiladas we made for dinner yesterday. then today or tomorrow we're gonna make rhubarb bread with the rhubarb in our garden. the rhubarb bread recipe is prolly one of the most delicious things ever. *grin*

crackfic!

so ^merrick has this character called 'webber' (if this sounds familiar, it's cuz ^wyatt created webber in 2005) and she's been writing him for about 7 years or so, and he got introduced to a character named 'pol'.

anyways, ^merrick wrote a scene with the two of them trapped in webber's office during a fire and mom read it and was like: 'they're so calm. shouldn't they be feeling something?' (if you've watched star trek, they were acting like vulcans *laugh*) that became a joke till a few nights ago, mom & us were talking about the scene and how to make it even MORE ridiculous.

so i bring you our first crackfic.

I've had this office for five years, Pol. I think I'd know if the window opened. )

i wish SOMEBODY inside LIKED raisins. we've got this peanut/chocolate chip/sunflower seed/raisin mix that's SO GOOD except we don't like raisins, so we've gotta pick them out. most of the time at least ONE of us likes something. haha, if somebody other than ^merrick ate dinner (dinner time is family time so it's ^merrick's time!) we'd totally SHOCK mom by eating all this other stuff. *grin*
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
the body's got a bday coming up on august 6. mom's bday is july 13. and my celebrating bday is on july 22. my non-celebrating bday is january 5. my july-22 bday is the one i picked for myself, but the january-5 bday is the more solemn hey-i-was-born day, tho i guess we don't REALLY know my bday cuz i'm part of 'side2' which didn't split into me & ^isah till a couple years later. yea.
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
last night ^wyatt told ^merrick that their character 'webber' doesn't get to rest yet. webber's story got told AGAIN last year's nanowrimo and i thought he'd had enough (let's just say he's been in 15 stories already so i thought maybe he was done right?? *eyeroll*) but i guess not. ^wyatt says we've gotta stop dwelling on his past and relationships and stuffs and give him a STORY. like a thriller or a murder mystery or something. yea.

but we can't do it NOW. me & ^merrick are writing soft sci-fi bingo and a novel afterward. then ^merrick is gonna write a screenplay with mom for a story that started as our screenplay, became mom's novel, and is now gonna become our shared screenplay again. AFTER that, maybe ^wyatt can give webber some time.

the screenplay is gonna be totally cool! once it's done i wanna see if we can get somebody interested in it.....like in buying it. wouldn't it be awesome to have our own movie!

ps: does it still count as eavesdropping if the conversation is going on in the front room of my own head??

what now??

we ended therapy today. it was mutual, us & the therapist agreed. it's for the best. getting therapy FOR the system means you gotta TALK ABOUT the system. & that wasn't happening. AT ALL. so yea. dunno what we're gonna do now.

us & mom walked to the appt in sunny 93F+ weather. we got ice cream on the way there. YUMMY! and then just about melted on the walk home. the water in my water bottle woulda made a nice hot shower. dunno if it was worth it tho.
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
me & mom went on this guided walk in the woods with 15ish other people. one of the ladies who showed up was wearing a brightly colored big floral pattern floor-length DRESS made of SPANDEX with a gathered chest and a string around the neck instead of straps. not only was it ugly, but it's also like: 'why are you wearing THAT and FLIP-FLOPS to walk around in the woods??'

i don't get it.

i went walking with mom, brushed my head on a tree branch, and got pine needles stuck in my bra. couldn't get em out either without flashing all the cars driving by.

dad's day

today we celebrated dad's bday & father's day. it was pretty cool! me & ^merrick baked carrot cake and dad grilled hamburgers and brats and italian sausages on the grill. mom made baked veggies and green beans that me & ^merrick fried bacon for. yummy!! *smile* we did a tiny bit of writing for camp nano but we're gonna catch up tomorrow.

some stuffs

1) we got our grades last night! 4.0 in the math class, woot! the programming logic prof apparently gave us an incomplete even tho we didn't ask for it. he never contacted us like to explain how the incomplete contract should be worked out, but we're gonna take the class again anyways. AFTER we get this inside stuff worked out.

2) about 3 and a half hours into fable: the lost chapters, i'm just about to start the rescue scarlet robe/prison escape quest. today i fought the white balverine, went through the arena, rescued the archaeologist (minions!), AND took the graveyard path. the arena is SO LONG. so is the prison escape, which i'm gonna do tomorrow. tonight dad* needed the tv so i had to quit.

*i made up my mind to call the body-parents just parents. maybe they don't know it, but i AM half the daughter they know, and they're good to me. (i'll forgive the driving ban! *wink*) so, mom & dad.

screwed

so i know i said i'd be back to my usual positive self today....but i'm not.

basically, in programming logic class ^merrick came to the realization that ^isah has been trying to make us fail. yea. she totally screwed us over!

the textbook prolly could've helped us do the assignments, but the textbook never got read cuz whenever ^merrick thought of reading it, suddenly the thought would disappear and she'd be doing something else. it's one of those you-don't-remember-you-don't-remember types of amnesia, so it never occurred to us that something was missing till the prof said something today & another student showed ^merrick his textbook. then.....DING!

even better, apparently we were supposed to do these online tests on the textbook every week, but none of us ever remembered thinking about those tests, so i guess we missed about 1/2 of them, and there's no makeup tests.

body-mom thinks we should try to take an incomplete for the course, but the term ends on thursday, and i dunno if we can get an incomplete that fast — or if we can get an incomplete AT ALL. after all, yunno, what do we say?? we don't have the disability office behind us this time. so......i really dunno what we're gonna do.
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
i HOPE body-mom is gonna come home tonight with the news if her supervisor could ethically be my therapist. it'd be really great if finding somebody was that easy. we'll see.....

i got 'the dissociative identity disorder sourcebook' that my psychiatrist recommended from the library today. it's gonna be kinda awkward to figure out where i can safely read it, but i'll figure something out!

edit!: he & body-mom decided it wouldn't be a good arrangement, but he's gonna ask somebody else he knows and see if she (we think he said 'she') might work out for me instead.
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
we might have a therapist if he decides it's 'ethical' to see us. body-mom is a temporary psychologist / counselor who still gets supervised till she gets her license. her supervisor apparently has some experience treating dissociative disorders. also he's something of a behaviorist, which surprisingly we got along well with last time (he was a cognitive-behavioral therapist who also did hypnosis), so maybe that'd turn out ok? but anyways, he's gotta decide if it's ethical to supervise body-mom and treat her daughter. i dunno when he's gonna make up his mind, but prolly by next wednesday.

tuesday

gonna see the psychiatrist on tuesday. i dunno if he really believes we're plural, but this time we've actually got some evidence of dissociation or at least some issues with (i think it's called) internally-focused state-dependent memory.

body-mom is gonna ask him to write us a note for class where we can give it to the profs to explain what's going on. like to say we're sometimes more able than other times to recall information and work on projects — not saying dissociation or 'multiple personalities', but explaining why sometimes we can do one thing and sometimes we can't. ehhh, she says it better than that, but that's the basics.

we're taking:
[1] the paper i posted a couple days ago
[2] a list of the times and situations where an insider was in the wrong place at the wrong time
&
[3] some of the switch triggers we've noticed (only one identified so far but we're working on that)

body-mom isn't actually going this time cuz she's gotta work, so we're going with body-dad. this time i'm not gonna try to come to the front during the appointment. it'll be better if ^merrick can just tell him straightforward without interruptions. we wanna get this figured out and we hope to have the psychiatrist's help.
buginarug: an androgynous blond young person leaning against a mirror and looking at the reflection (Default)
so we're in programming logic today and the class is working on a special in-class exercise. me & ^merrick are working on writing down what the prof is saying and not paying much attention to what's going on inside, just what the prof is writing and saying so we can copy it down. then, near the end, we look down.....

page 1 & page 2

the pics are huge, but i think it's a darn good example of why we're having trouble in class. this time we don't even notice we switch till we look at the paper. at least THIS time we both absorbed the info.

[for people who can't view the pics, they're just b&w worksheets with 2 different handwritings changing abruptly twice in the course of the assignment.]

when body-mom saw it, she said we should take it to the psychiatrist as examples when we tell him how we're having troubles with dissociation and school.

ps, yea, that IS the body name
